Windsurfing: Felixstowe-Golf Wind Direction: ENE Wind Stength: 18-25 Surf / Sea State: big Air Temperature: 8.5 Sea Temperature: 13 Weather: cloud then rain Max Speed: 25.3 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered:
Got down about 11 and went to the Golf as wind NE and shore dump at Dip,
and nice waves at Golf. Thought about 6m but wisely rigged 5.2m and got out
around 12. Roger already out and came back in overpowered on 5.7m to change
down to 5m. It was quite good with a big sea and a bit choppy further out.
To gybe off a wave on the outside I had to bear right off the wind which
was too strong and I just bounced out of most gybes. Started to get the
hang of it then wind picked up and I changed down to 4.7m. Much more
comfortable but even with that it was too windy further out some times, and
it swung around a little. Coming in was awesone down some steep faces and
gyvbing ont he inside got really nice as teh water was so smooth after high
tide. It got nice further out but wind was a little up and down: off the
plane, then overpowered. Most of time it was goog. After about almost 3
hours out got tired and cold with muscles stiffening in the cold so packed
up. Hands and head OK even in the cold wind. Darren, Paul and Mark also
out, and five others up fom Southend way. About 4 kiters getting big air.
GPS did not work most of the time, recorded 25.3knots and reckon some runs
were higher 20s. Golf is getting better in NEs, even if cold!
